End-to-end encrypted · 7-day free trial

An office suite that’s actually yours.

VaultSuite gives you a private CryptPad instance on your own address — docs, sheets, boards, and files, encrypted in your browser before we ever see them. The control of self-hosting, none of the servers — a workspace you own, not a bucket you rent from Big Tech. From $4.99/mo, and your card isn’t charged until the 7-day trial ends.

Zero-knowledge encryption We host ciphertext, not documents No lock-in — export anytime
Why leave

Big Tech rents you your own data

Google gave everyone free storage, got the world to move in, then started charging rent — and reserves the right to freeze the account or lock you out entirely. Here's what you're actually leaving behind.

Your files freeze when the bucket fills

Hit Google's shared 15 GB limit and you can't create new Docs, Sheets, or Slides — and until you free up space or pay, no one can even edit or copy the files you already have.

Source: Google support

A dedicated instance with storage that's yours alone — never a 15 GB bucket shared across your email, photos, and files.

The meter only runs one way

You get 15 GB free, shared across Gmail, Drive, and Photos. Everything above it is metered back to you through Google One — cancel and you drop to 15 GB; go over and the account freezes.

Source: Google One policies

One flat price for the whole encrypted suite, with two months free on annual. You're buying a workspace, not renting a bucket.

One flag from locked out, with no one to call

An automated filter can suspend your entire account. Parents lost a decade of email, photos, and files over a photo their doctor requested — police cleared them, and Google still didn't reinstate it.

Source: The New York Times

You're the admin of your own instance, and everything is exportable and self-hostable. If we ever fail you, you keep it all.

Every claim above is drawn from Google's own support documentation and reporting by The New York Times. We name the model we're competing with; we don't exaggerate it.

How it works

From sign-up to secure in minutes

No servers to rent, no CryptPad to patch, no backups to babysit. We run the infrastructure; you get a private instance.

  1. Pick a slug & tier

Choose your address and a plan. No long-term contract — cancel anytime, and your card isn’t charged until the trial ends.

  2. We provision your instance

A dedicated, isolated CryptPad instance spins up in the EU in a couple of minutes. Nothing shared, no noisy neighbours.

  3. Invite your team & collaborate

Open your instance, add collaborators, and start writing. Everything is encrypted in the browser before it ever leaves your device.

Why VaultSuite

Privacy without the ops burden

The privacy of self-hosting without running servers. The convenience of SaaS without surrendering your data.

vs Big Tech (Google, Microsoft 365)

  • End-to-end encrypted — your documents are unreadable to us, and to anyone who asks us for them
  • Dedicated storage that's yours alone — not a shared 15 GB bucket that freezes your files when it fills up
  • One flat price for the whole suite — not a meter that climbs every time you outgrow the free tier
  • Export everything anytime, or self-host the whole stack — real ownership, not lock-in

vs cryptpad.fr (shared instance)

  • A whole instance to yourself — you're the admin, and you can close registration to strangers with one click
  • Your own address: yourname.vaultsuite.dev
  • Guaranteed resources — performance no crowd can degrade
  • Automated daily backups, managed for you

vs DIY self-hosting

  • Live in minutes — no servers, no TLS, no upgrade treadmill
  • Verified deployments and daily backups out of the box
  • Support from the people who actually run the platform
  • Usually cheaper than the VPS you'd run it on
Security & trust

Built so we can't read your data

Privacy isn't a setting you toggle — it's the architecture. Here's what that means in practice.

  • Encrypted in your browser

Documents are encrypted client-side before upload. Keys never touch our servers — we can't read your data, and neither can anyone we're compelled to hand it to.

  • Yours alone

You're the administrator: invite who you want, close registration to strangers with one click. Your users, your admin panel, your rules.

  • Dedicated & isolated

Every customer gets their own container with guaranteed resources. No shared tenancy means no cross-tenant data exposure.

  • Yours to leave, anytime

Built on open-source CryptPad with one-click export to PDF, DOCX, Markdown and more. No lock-in, no hostage data.

Features

Everything you need for secure collaboration

End-to-end encryption, an instance that answers only to you, and all the tools your team already expects.

Encrypted before it leaves your browser

Every document is encrypted on your device before it reaches us. What we store is ciphertext — we couldn't read your work if we wanted to, and neither could anyone who asks us for it.

An instance of your own

Your own CryptPad at your own address — yourname.vaultsuite.dev. You're the administrator: your users, your settings, your rules. Not seats in someone else's cloud.

The whole suite, one price

Rich documents, spreadsheets, kanban boards, forms, whiteboards, and an encrypted drive. OnlyOffice for Word and Excel files on Default and Team.

Live in minutes

Pick a name, pick a plan, and watch your instance deploy — most are serving traffic in under three minutes, with every step verified before we call it done.

Backed up daily

Encrypted volume snapshots every day, retained for 14 days — restored for you whenever you need it.

Nothing to maintain

Updates, security patches, TLS certificates, storage — handled. The control of self-hosting without ever touching a server. Your instance sleeps when idle and wakes in seconds.

No lock-in, by design

Built on open-source CryptPad. Export everything, anytime, in standard formats — and 5% of our revenue funds CryptPad's continued development.

EU data storage

Your instance and its encrypted contents are hosted in Amsterdam, on EU infrastructure.

Open source

Built on open source — and we help fund it

VaultSuite runs on CryptPad, the open-source, end-to-end encrypted suite. We don't just build on it — we give back: 5% of every invoice funds CryptPad's continued development, so the software you rely on stays free, independent, and alive.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is CryptPad?

CryptPad is a free, open-source, end-to-end encrypted collaboration suite. It includes rich text editing, spreadsheets, code editing, kanban boards, whiteboards, and more. All encryption happens in your browser — the server never sees your unencrypted data.

How is VaultSuite different from cryptpad.fr?

cryptpad.fr is the official hosted instance run by the CryptPad team. It's a shared instance where you share resources with other users. VaultSuite gives you a dedicated CryptPad instance running in its own isolated container, with your own address, automated backups, and guaranteed resources. Think of it as the difference between shared hosting and a dedicated server.

Can you read my documents?

No. All encryption and decryption happens in your browser. Your encryption keys never leave your device. We physically cannot read your documents — even if we wanted to or were compelled by law enforcement. This is the core privacy guarantee of end-to-end encryption.

Where is my data stored?

Your instance and every document in it are hosted in the EU (Amsterdam) — and because encryption happens in your browser, what's stored there is ciphertext to begin with. We're finalizing our formal GDPR compliance program; the practical privacy guarantee is stronger than any certification: we never hold a readable copy of your work.

What happens if I cancel?

Your instance keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for. When the subscription ends, the instance and its encrypted data are deleted — so export your documents first (it's one click in CryptPad). Your workspace name stays reserved for you, and resubscribing deploys a fresh instance under the same address.

Can I export my data?

Yes. CryptPad has built-in export functionality for all document types. You can export to PDF, DOCX, HTML, Markdown, and more at any time. There's no vendor lock-in.

What if VaultSuite shuts down?

You keep everything. VaultSuite runs open-source CryptPad, your documents export in one click to standard formats (PDF, DOCX, Markdown, and more), and the whole stack is self-hostable — so even if we disappeared, you could take your encrypted data and run the same software yourself. We've watched other privacy services get acquired and shut down overnight, stranding their users; the open-source, exportable, self-hostable design is our guarantee that this can't happen to you here.

What is scale-to-zero?

Scale-to-zero means your instance automatically goes to sleep when not in use and wakes up when you access it. This saves resources and money. The wake-up takes about 5 seconds. Lite and Default tiers use scale-to-zero; Team tier is always-on.

What happens when I run out of storage?

Nothing dramatic. Your storage is dedicated to your own instance — it isn't a shared bucket pooled with an inbox or a photo library, so filling it up never freezes your email or blocks you from editing files you've already created. If you need more room, move up a tier; there's no surprise overage billing, and we'll never lock you out of your own data.

Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or education?

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit and debit cards via Stripe. Annual billing gives you two months free, and every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Cryptocurrency payments are on our roadmap.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Sign up, pick a plan, and your card isn't charged until the trial ends; cancel anytime before then at no cost.
