vaultsuite.dev gives you a fully-featured CryptPad instance with automated deployment, backups, and management. Here's what's included.

CryptPad features

Every VaultSuite instance includes the full CryptPad suite:

  • Rich text editor — real-time collaborative documents
  • Spreadsheets — collaborative spreadsheets with formulas and charts
  • Code editor — collaborative code editing with syntax highlighting
  • Kanban boards — drag-and-drop project management
  • Whiteboards — collaborative drawing and diagramming
  • Forms — surveys and polls
  • File drive — organize documents in folders
  • User management — invite collaborators, set permissions
  • Chat — embedded real-time chat for each document

OnlyOffice integration (Default and Team tiers)

The Default and Team tiers include OnlyOffice integration, which lets you edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents directly in your browser.

OnlyOffice runs in the same container as your CryptPad instance, so it benefits from the same end-to-end encryption and isolation. There's a brief (~5 second) cold start when you first open a document after a period of inactivity, but subsequent edits are instant.

Your own address

Your instance lives at your-name.vaultsuite.dev — you pick the name at signup, and it's yours for the life of the subscription. Custom domains (pads.yourcompany.com) are on the roadmap; see "What's not included (yet)" below.

Automated backups

Every instance volume is snapshotted daily — encrypted, point-in-time copies your instance can be rolled back to:

  • All tiers: 14-day snapshot retention
  • Restores: handled by support from any retained snapshot

Backups are encrypted at rest and stored in the EU.

Scale-to-zero

Lite and Default tiers use scale-to-zero: your instance automatically goes to sleep when not in use and wakes up in ~5 seconds when you access it. This saves resources and money — you pay only for active usage.

The Team tier is always-on: your instance never sleeps, so there's no cold-start delay. This is ideal for teams that need instant access at all times.

Dashboard

The VaultSuite dashboard lets you manage your instance:

  • Watch your deployment go live, step by step
  • See live instance status (active, sleeping) and your storage allowance
  • Open your instance and set up its admin account with one click
  • Manage your subscription — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time
  • Delete your account and instance permanently

Bandwidth and storage

Each tier includes a bandwidth allowance (soft cap):

  • Lite: 50 GB/mo
  • Default: 100 GB/mo
  • Team: 200 GB/mo

If you exceed the soft cap, we'll contact you to discuss upgrading or optimizing usage. We don't throttle or shut you down without notice.

Storage is included per tier (5 GB / 10 GB / 50 GB). Need more? Upgrade your tier from the dashboard, or contact support and we'll work something out — there is no automatic overage billing.

What's not included (yet)

We're working on additional features for future releases:

  • Custom domains (bring your own subdomain)
  • Self-serve backup restores from the dashboard
  • Purchasable add-ons (always-on for Lite/Default, extra storage)
  • OIDC/SSO integration
  • Multi-language dashboard and docs
  • Teams/organizations with multiple instances
