Today we're launching VaultSuite: your own private, end-to-end encrypted office suite — documents, spreadsheets, boards, forms, whiteboards, and an encrypted drive — running on your own address, in a dedicated instance that answers only to you.
It's built on CryptPad, the open-source, end-to-end encrypted collaboration suite. We run the servers, the backups, the TLS, and the upgrades; you get the control of self-hosting without ever touching a server.
Why we built it
A decade ago, Big Tech handed everyone free tools and free storage. We all moved in — our documents, our photos, our whole working lives. Then the terms quietly changed. The free storage became a meter. The convenience became surveillance. And the account you depend on became something a single automated flag could switch off, with no human to appeal to.
You didn't buy those tools. You rent them — and the landlord reads your mail, trains on your files, and can raise the rent or change the locks whenever it likes. That's the deal we think people are ready to leave.
